Cortnees getting braces

Cortnee is getting braces!!!!

Mostly for aesthetic reasons but a few needed reasons. This and contacts in the fall, she will be the whole new person. Hmmmmmm.......didn't we all think that at one time.

She is beautiful now, and she will be beautiful then.

Ashlees sweetheart dance

This dance was girls choice. She went with the twin brother of one of the girls she kind of hangs out with. She looked beautiful. He seems like a nice kid. They had dinner at The spaghetti factory ( with apparently everyone else from their school) they went to the dance and after changing clothes they went and played Laser tag. I think they all had a fun time. Ashlee claims that the corsage was her favorite thing. It was beautiful.

Mexico

The lobster place in Puerto Nuevo. The meal included a whole lobster, rice, beans, tortillas, chips and salsa, and margaritas (ours are non-alcoholic) This nice meal was $15.00 american money. Very good but a very cold restaurant. It didn't help they had the doors open. They also were playing Led Zepplin when we first got there. You know that didn't really add to the whole you're in a different country atmosphere. I just thought that was funny.
The waiter was very cute when he brought the food out. He said the beans are mexican caviar, the rice ( I can't remember what it was) the tortillas were mexican pancakes. He was cute.

Christmas Eve in Encinata (I think I'm spelling that wrong) We were brave and purchased tacos from this street taco stand. They were very, very good. Marc had a beef one and also a fish one. The beef one definitely the best.

Mom, Dad and Marc on the beach by our resort. Quite a few high rise buildings in the back ground

Mom and dad on the beach by our resort. The buildings in the background are some of the condos that were in our resort area. Our buildings were back about a block or maybe two and they were 4 story buildings but also the white color.

Indio, California

Mom and Dad
Marc and I

We spent saturday night and sunday night at Indio resort. It is a beautiful resort. We walked around and took a couple of pictures. I think this is the warmest we were the whole time we were gone. Oh and before I forget. We went to Church on Sunday and the bishop there was a classmate of mine all through Jr High and High School. His name is Eric Jackman. I believe it was the La Quinta ward. Mom and I were reading the program before sacrament started and I said hey I went to high school with an Eric Jackman, I wonder if it is the same person. I happened to know that he had moved to the Palm Springs area and started his own veterinary office. Otherwise I don't know if I would have even given it a second thought. Everyone changes after 30 years but as I looked at him I thought it could be him. Anyway, we went up and talked to him and sure enough it was him. He was always a very nice guy from what I remember.

Happy Christmas Eve

We are havinig a nice time in Mexico. Today we spent the day in Encinatas. It is about 50 kilometers away which is about 40 miles. We had a nice time being bombarded by little children to buy their wares and/or just give them money. I don't do so well. Dad and Marc purchased new suits for about $70.00. That was a great deal. The people are very friendly. Many of them speak english. It is hard to remember that it is Christmas. But there are a few Christmas trees around. Hopefully pictures will follow soon.

Belle Voix

The correct pronunciation is Belle vwaaaaaa. this is the singing group for Sophomores at our high school. They have been doing "gigs" at area christmas party almost every Friday or Saturday night through the month of December. They had their Christmas concert on Wednesday and this is the first I have heard them sing. They did an excellent job and she looked beautiful. Ok, my computer won't let me post a picture so I'll have to do that later. But for now this will bring me back to the top of Loras blogger list.

16th birthday for Ashlee

She received a little speaker for her i-pod(I think this is the thing she was most excited about). An i-tunes gift card. a converter to play her i-pod in the car and a gas card.
seat covers for the neon and a steering wheel cover.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEE WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!
Can you believe it!!!!!

She can't!!!! I have an easier time.

She is going to her moms after school today and having some friends over for movies. So we aren't going to see her until late tonight and tomorrow is a crazy day. So we made her open her presents before Marc left for work.

In October I told her that since this was her 16th birthday we could do something extra special. So be thinking about what you want to do. Well her choices were - spend the weekend in St George or have a mystery dinner theatre. Well we pretty quickly ruled out St George. We have to share her birthday with her mom so that would have left an overnighter in St George. So I started looking for dinner theatre ideas. The internet had quite a few. But we luckily tend to procrastinate. So early in November she received her schedule for Belle voix performances. Pretty much every weekend. So luckily she is having friends over at her moms otherwise she wouldn't have any party at all.
