CHRISTMAS

Isn't Christmas the greatest?

Ashlee and Cortnee spent Christmas Eve at their moms, so they didn't get home until about 1:00. So our morning was spent just relaxing...well except for the snow blowing. But that didn't take long. Marc has strep throat so he needed a little extra relaxing time. We were so happy to see Ashlee and Cortnee when they got home. So we rapidly rip through all of our presents and then we are back to relaxing again. Marc received a new 22 inch flat computer monitor, Judy received a new digital camera, Ashlee received a new video ipod nano and Cortnee received a new digital camera (purple), plus lots and lots of other very nice gifts. We were spoiled as usual at our house.

Christmas cards

I have to post this, I am still amazed that we did this. Actually, I can't believe we did this. We had to print more christmas cards because we didn't have enough to get everyone with the first set. I thought we had plenty. Anyway we were ordering them online and Marc was typing out our message. Pretty original "the Moesser Family, 2008---Huh.........Ashlee noticed that we had the wrong year. Whoops. So for all of you that got the firt group of christmas cards I'm sure none of you noticed that I sent our next years cards already!!!!!!!! So correct your year if you keep them. And we'll try not to do that again. Also, I had already sealed up the last of the envelopes when I realized that I hadn't added my extra, so that will probably be sent out this week. Love you all.

Ashlee is 15

Ashlee's birthday is on the 12th. Because we had mutual (young women's) that night our family celebrated on the 11th. We went to dinner at a family style italian restaurant called Bucca de pepe (I think that is spelled right) We had a nice dinner. We went home and Ashlee opened her presents. We gave her a computer game called "The Sims" Her friend Kayla has this game and every time Ashlee goes over there she comes home talking about how fun it is. And she has been telling me she needed a new white cover wear shirt ( so we got her two). Needless to say she was more than disappointed. She put on a good face for the pictures. She couldn't believe that we didn't get her an outfit. Now comes the confession that her behavior makes me very sad, disappointed and more than a little mad. Especially after I had just purchased some sub for Santa items for a 10 year old boy who was asking for all clothes. You know the basics a coat, shoes, pants, shirts, socks, snow boots, gloves. Oh yes the child was also asking for yugioh cards and books. Ashlee who has more than enough wasn't happy with what she got for her birthday. Anyway, the day is over and she had a party at her mom's and she did get an outfit. So we can all stop feeling sorry for the poor girl.

Musical Chairs

Who would have thought this was a dangerous game? Well we now know that it can be and was for Ashlee. Her National Junior Honor Society was having a Halloween party (yes I realize this is old news) She was apparently battling for a chair and the next thing she remembers is being on the ground and her knee is hurting really bad. So we see our family doctor who refers us to an orthopedic surgeon. The day we had the appointment with the Orthopedic doctor, the doctor had an emergency appendectomy (anyone ever had that happen?) So we were able to get in to see another Orthopedic in the same building. They did an Mri and luckily there was no real damage. She had stretched and torn some film that covers the kneecap. Sorry I don't know the word. We all thought it sounded like and eye related injury. Something like the retina but not. Anyway, she did three weeks of physical therapy. Unfortnately she wanted to try out for the ninth grade basketball team. But the physical therapist would not give his approval, believe it or not she made the team without trying out. We are still not sure how or why this happened but she was very happy. Her first game will be this Saturday. So hopefully I will get some pictures posted before next year. And remember Musical chairs can be dangerous!!!!!!!

Miscellaneous

These are some miscellaneous pictures that I have been going to post for so long. Of course my Shilo. She is just so cute. The quilt pictures are just some quilts that I have made. The top one is a chenille quilt. I took a class at JoAnns and have done two now. They are different and kind of fun. By the way at JoAnn's I used one of their very nice Husquavarna sewing machines and would like to purchase one some day for a measly $1200.00. The Moesser sign is a vinyl sign that I purchased after we bought one for Mom for mothers day. You put your family name in they large letters and then over the top in smaller letters it says "Be true to who you are and the family name you bear." I don't think that my smaller letters show up as well as mom's do. So I may have to do some changing.
I was just remembering that Kelli tagged me. I just told you a couple of things about myself that I bet most of you didn't know. I can't think of too many things. I started working at Mervyns through the end of the year. To date I think I have spent more than I have made. But they do give you excellent discounts. It is kind of fun to spend $150.00 and save $350.00. I am kind of having fun, but I am tired and I feel bad that Shilo is home all day by herself. I know that sounds crazy. Starting the first of the year I am going to be working at a pre-school and am very nervous about it. Anyway, I think that is pretty miscellaneous.

More Thanksgiving pictures

Thanksgiving 2007

I think that Heidi posted mostly these same pictures. But here are mine. As she also stated Noreen and Doug were in charge and they are great host/hostesses. Always covering every basis. We had dinner at their church house. There was lots of fun, some torturous service (and you know who you are)for some and lots and lots of good food. In attendance, Mom and Dad, Marc, Ashlee, Cortnee and myself, Noreen, Doug and Alyssa, Chad and Tracy, Doug, Jeri, Kolten, Cache, Chance and Jaxon, Russ, Jenni, Krissie, Katie, Cody, Kellie and Kara, Heidi, Brian, Sam, Amanda and Josie. Jordan and Amanda were able to make it after dinner.

I love being able to spend time with my family and wish we could do it more often. We also missed those who could not be with us. Hope we see you soon.

Family Pictures

Ok, so if any of you were wondering what happened to us. We are still around. Life is busy. Whose isn't?
These pictures were taken in October when we took Mike and Kelli's. It was a rainy day so we are pretty pleased with how they turned out. I will try to get christmas card/pictures out soon. Just trying to decide what I want to send out with them for the binder. Hmmmmmm, your guess is as good as mine.

7 Years

Ok, so I think I mentioned Marc and I celebrated our 7th anniversary.

Well Marc, Cortnee and I celebrated our 7th anniversary.

Ashlee went to a region dance with her friends. We went to McGraths.

It is amazing to think that 7 years have passed already...... even though some days it seems soooooo much longer.

I wish I had electronic pictures of the girls on our wedding day. They were so little and they had so much fun dressing up and having their hair all curled. Hmmmmm......... how would it be to have them want their hair curled now?

They look back fondly to playing with all of the kids, but I know Davids name comes up. I believe there was a little cat torture. And who could forget the rattle snake? And thowing the superball over the edge of the lawn down to the parking lot.

Anyway, 7 years and I am grateful each and every day for the opportunity that I was given to be a mom to Ashlee and Cortnee. (Even though they have a mom) . I don't have any other children and I know they love me and I love them just like they are my own. Ewwwweeee I bet I'm going to get some gagging from them when they read this blog. Marc has been just wonderful at allowing me to be a part of all of their lives. Once again, love ya, honey.

So these are the wonderful pictures that I had to take on our anniversary.

Shilo

Just in case I haven't mentioned this spoiled dog makes me smile (or scream) depending on how much she wants to bark that day. I mentioned the blankets so I thought I would give you an idea of the process.

This is how the blankets start out. Not the neatest pile but certainly better than when she is done. This is how she starts. Digs right in at the bottom. Of course she makes the cutest little noises we all like to laugh at. And who can get mad at this cute little face?

Happy Birthday Marc!!!!!

Today is Marc's birthday. He is 45!!!! In case I haven't mentioned (or you haven't spent more than a couple of minutes with him) his new passion is mountain biking . So after the craziness of our day. About 9:00 p.m he gets to open his presents. For his birthday he received a new helmet, new gloves and a couple of lightweight polyester shirts. He was happy.
But the start of his day goes something like this. Well I should start by telling you that the last couple of weeks he has been riding his bike home from work once a week. He takes the bike into work the day before he plans to ride it home. Leaves it and then rides it home the next day. So I take him to the bus stop and he has a route all planned out. Well he calls me and tells me that he got on the wrong bus ( I hope this isn't old age setting in) He ends up at the University Hospital and the last bus going to his work is over. So he walks to work by the zoo from the University Hospital. He said it only took him about 40 minutes. He said he was very tempted to take trax home. But he rode home and had a good tail wind and had green lights all the way. Happy Birthday Honey, we love you.

Life just gets crazy

Ashlee is in blue

Cortnee is in orange

Ashlee and Cortnee said our blog is boring (and I'm sure they meant with a capital B). I kind of suspected that would be the case when I started. Our lives have been very busy with soccer. I have also been trying to workout with my friend Shauna ( that is kind of a time consuming process). I think that with all of the running around I do for the girls I should be losing weight or be in shape. Not happening. Marc and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. I had a very uncooperative picture family. But I am going to post the pictures anyway. We also have had some sickness. Ashlee, Cortnee and I all had colds. Marc is just getting it now. Ashlee ended up getting the worst of it. She woke up one morning to a very swollen Uvula ( the thing that hangs down in the back of your throat). So we made a trip to the emergency room. Turned out to be a bacteria. They gave her a boatload of medication and I think after a week she is doing better. We (the girls and I) joined mom and dad at the Desert Star theatre for Spamlet. We got season passes for christmas last year as did mom and dad. Marc was camping with the Aaronic priesthood so he couldn't make it. I mentioned to Marc that I don't know if season passes to desert star are all that good. They are funny but almost overkill if you go every couple of months. It seems to me that I have enjoyed it more when it has been awhile since the last time I went. Marc disagreed and has really enjoyed going. In the meantime I have been trying to finish some baby quilts and Lora said I need to post pictures of them so she can see them, so when I am done I probably will. So is that a lot for you all to look forward to?????? This picture of Shilo was so cute I had to post it. She is so funny when she is tired (which is frequently )she loves to dig under covers. I have a pile of blankets down in the computer room and she digs herself a little hole. Especially if we are taking too long to go to bed. Marc went downstairs and she poked her head up out of the blankets and it was too cute.

Labor day weekend

I thought I would actually document our lives since the reunion. We went as a family to the Salt Lake Temple friday night to do some baptisms for the dead. Cortnee is now 12 and this was her first time. Marc was able to baptize both of them and I watched. It is always fun to watch your kids doing new and different things. We then had a nice family dinner at Biaggis (I think that is how you spell it.) at the Gateway.
Saturday we hung out at home and then headed out to the IKEA store that is fairly new to our area. I had been before with Noreen but none of the rest of the family had. Ashlee and Cortnee fell in love with the cool beds that have desks underneath. If they could have those for Christmas they wouldn't ask for anything else. Hmmmmmmm. IKEA does have some good space saving ideas. We then headed to Lagoon. We got there around 5:00 and left at closing. It was really not very busy. Kind of surprised me. I didn't take my camera but did get one picture on my phone.

Sunday went to church and then took engagement pictures for Jordan and Amanda. I sure do wish I could post some of them because they turned out very nice. I don't think they would like all of the thousands of visitors to my blog (I am quite popular reading) ha, ha, to see their pictures before they do.
So tomorrow will be a toss up between spending time with friends or going to Tooele to visit family. We shall see what tomorrow brings.
Marc is going riding with some of his friends.
The picture to the right was taken a month or so ago up American Fork canyon. Marc is really enjoying the rides they go on. Tomorrow they are heading up to Deer Valley riding the tram up and then riding their bikes down. I told him it sounds crazy but since he married me he must qualify. I'm glad he is enjoying it.

Just relaxing

After all of the team building stuff we hung out at the pavilion. There was some phase 10 being played and lots and lots of eating.

this is harder than it looks

Everyone enjoyed walking on the wire tight rope. We then headed off to a couple of different areas. One of them was a big see saw. Everyone started on one end and you walked until the see saw was exactly balanced. The sister missionary was our neighbor way, way, way back when we lived in Granger( a city that is now called west valley) She and her husband are serving a mission here at Heber valley girls camp. It was great to see her.
